Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perserverance. Let perserverance finish its work so that you may be maure and complete, not lacking anything.

오늘의 구절은 시편이다. 시편에 내용은 대체로 종교적인 은유가 담긴 표현들이 많다. 그래서 이 내용을 비종교적 의미로 치환하기에는 다분히 종교적이다. 그래서 딱히 내용을 다룰만한 것이 없다. 내 자신이 종교적인 삶에 의탁한다고, 남에게 내 가치관의 변화를 강요하고 싶은 마음은 없다. 종교적인 발언의 빈도가 짙어질 수록 오히려 비종교인의 반감은 커진다. 그래서 비종교인이던 시절의 종교비판적 태도를 상기하면서 내 변한 가치관을 돌아볼 수 있어야 한다. 이것또한 종교적 메타인지가 아닐까 싶다.
