For my faith, I will prove my belief from God by action. As the James said, faith without deeds is dead. I want to be a better person who help on another as good neighbor, Christian, friend. I pray continually. In Jesus's name, Amen.

 

오늘의 구절은 믿음을 굳건히 함에 있어 용기와 힘을 독려하는 내용이다. 믿음이나 신념을 지키는 데 있어 많은 유혹, 이에 따른 흔들림을 겪는다. 외부로부터의 공격도 온다. 신념에 경우에는 근간을 흔들만한 비판들이 있고, 종교도 일종의 박해가 있겠다. 박해란 표현은 이제 무색하지만, 성령에 대한 공격이 존재한다고도 말한다. 종교에게는 무신론의 확장이 일종의 믿음의 위기라 볼 수도 있다. 신념은 낡은 이론이라 비판받으면서 무너지곤 했다.

 

종교나 신념과 같은 믿은 항상 새로운 것들로부터 공격받아왔다. 이제까지 살아남은 믿음은 그만큼 그 가치를 증명한 셈이고, 이에 대한 굳건한 믿음이 삶의 한 축이 될 수 있다. 믿음이라는게 고지식해 보일 수 있지만, 나를 지키는 방패와 같다. 믿음을 지키기 위해, 좀더 용기를, 그리고 힘을.
