Bible is the one which guides you in entire life. but I think we should read a lot of books for indirect experince and wide vision for our life. I pray continually. In Jesus's name, Amen.

 

오늘의 구절은 토라를 금과옥조처럼 여겨 매일 읽었을 때 얻는 가치로운 삶에 대해 논하고 있다. 성경이 종교적인 책이라 비종교인에게 거부감이 크다. 토라는 구약의 일부이기도 하고, 유대교 경전에도 해당한다. 그들이 토라를 읽는 이유는 교훈과 율법, 철학적인 부분까지 함축하고 있기에 일종의 종합서적이기 때문이다.

 

한권의 책만 읽는 것은 위험한 신념을 갖게 만든다. 그럼에도 66가지 챕터로 이루어진 신구약의 성경은 한권의 책 이상의 가치를 지닌것은 사실이다. 그럼에도 나는 여러책을 접하면서 다양한 삶의 경험과 넓은 시야, 식견을 갖출것을 추천한다. 종교인으로서 성경의 가치를 부정한는 것은 아니지만, 종교적인 신념에 입각해서 성경을 읽으면 결국 책 한권만 독파한 사람이 되고 만다.

 

성경을 비종교인의 관점에서 읽어본다는 마음으로 접한다면 책 하나만 읽어도 세상의 진리를 이해하는데 도움이 된다고 본다. 성경을 그저 종교경전으로만 보고, 자신의 종교적 신념을 강화하기 위한 독서로 활용된다면 우물안 개구리가 된다. 그만큼 성경의 가치가 경전이 아닌 선대의 지혜가 단긴 고전으로 바라볼때, 오늘의 구절이 지닌 의미를 이해할 수 있게 된다.
