My Concerns

What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you. care for them? You have made them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.

My Response

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off evertything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with. perserverance the race marked out for us,

오늘의 구절은 보편적으로 설명하기 힘든 내용이다. 시편의 구절들이 대체로 종교적 색체가 강하고, 그 종교적 메시지를 문학적으로 전달하는 느낌이 있다. 그래서 시편은 천주교 미사에서는 화답송으로 쓰이는데, 아무래도 다같이 시편을 듣고 낭송하는 느낌이 들 때도 많다. 시편에 대해 문학적이다 라고 말하는게 맞는 해석인지 아니면 진부한 표현인지 잘 모르겠다. 사실 구약이 주는 느낌은 좀 어렵긴 하다. 뭔가 방대해서 그런가 보다. 시편 자체조 구절이 굉장히 많아서 사실 다 읽지도 못했다. 그나마 신약은 좀 메시지가 간결하다 생각이 든다. 그렇다고 쉽다는 건 아니지만 구약보다는 좀더 이해하기가 좀 낫지 않나 싶다. 오늘의 구절이 만만치 않아서 더 주절거리게 되는 듯 하다.
