남의 티끌, 나의 들보

Luke 6:39-42 NIV

He also told them this parable: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

 

항상 나를 돌아보게 하는 구절이다. 내가 스스로에게 엄격하되, 나에 대한 기준보다 관대한 관점으로 남을 대하려고 노력한다. 정말 사람은 남의 단점은 너무 잘 파악한다. 반면 스스로의 문제점은 인지하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 오늘도 내 잘못은 제대로 파악하지 못하고, 남들에 대한 판단은 숨쉬듯 하고 있는 자신을 발견했다. 내 눈의 들보는 빼내지 않고, 남이 티끌을 꺼내려는 위선자가 바로 난다. 내눈의 들보를 생각하면서, 항상 내 스스로에게 회초리를 든다.
