2024-12-10 오늘의 구절, 아가페 이웃을 사랑하라

Verse of the day

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

언제나 말하지만, 종교와 비종교의 영역을 너머 인류애적 측면에서 추구할 만한 구절을 오늘 다뤄진다. 이웃을 사랑하라, 아가페란 그리스어표현되는 예수의 가르침은 가족적 이기주의를 초월하는 인류애적 메시지다. 아가페를 보통 모성애, 자녀에 대한 무조건적 사랑을 타자에게 전하는 것으로 비유하는데 결은 비슷하지만 다른 점이 있다. 모성애는 결국 가족적 에고이즘이란 한계에 있다. 아가페는 본성을 너머 나와 아무런 연고가 없는 타자에 대해 사랑의 가치를 추구한다. 아가페를 실천해내는 것이 결국 종교인에게는 하느님에 대한 사랑을, 종교인이 아닌 무신론자에게도 인류와 지구 전체에 긍정적 가치를 전한다.

 

My Concerns

Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen and I testify that this is God's Chosen One."

God's Will

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever belives in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.
