No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Honor God

My Concerns 

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

보통 시련을 겪을 때, 신이 내리는 형벌인가 싶을 때가 있다. 그런데, 성경의 구절을 보면 시련이나 시험은 신이 하는 것이 아니다. 되려 시험에 들지 않도록 돕는다 말한다. 종교인으로 외우게 되는 주기도문에도 유혹에 빠지지 않게 하시고, 악에서 구하소서 란 구절로 마무리 되는데, 주기도문도 마태복음에서 나온 구절이다. 결국 시련이나 시험은 악으로부터 나오고, 이를 구하는것도 신의 도움에서 비롯한다.

 

좋은일이 생겨도 예전에 겪은 괴로운 경험 때문에 걱정이 앞선다. 내가 지금 느끼고 있는 이 행복한 감정이 반작용으로 크게 안좋은 일이 생길까 싶다. 최근에 괜찮게 지내는 편이라 더 불안하다. 덜 불행하고, 덜 고통스러운 삶이 행복이라 느낄 때 찾아올 시련이 지레 겁을 먹게 한다. 내가 종교적인 삶을 살기로 한 뒤부터 많이 의지하는게, 아마 이부분이 아닐까 싶다. 시련이 오더라도 조금은 덜 고통스럽게 지나가길 바라며 말이다.
