Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.

Philippians 4:8 NIV

 

우리가 긍정하는 가치들을 나열하면서 이에 대해 마음에 담아두라는 구절이다. think about such things, 이러한 가치들에 대해 항상 마음에 담아두는 것은 사실 이 가치들이 종교적 혹은 비종교적으로 공통적으로 긍정할 만한 가치다. 물론 해당 구절 이전에 내용을 덧붙이면 결국은 지극히 종교적이다. Philippians 4:8 의 구절만 다룸으로 비종교인에게도 해당 가치들에 대해 항상 마음에 담아 삶에 한 중심이 되길 바라며.
